Catherine DAIL '83

For the month of May, we are turned our Spotlight towards the Big Apple on Catherine Dail, from the class of 1983.  Catherine is Owner and Director of Catherine Dail Fine Art, a private gallery in New York City specializing in 19th and 20th century American and European works of art, has been curating, appraising and consulting with private collectors, institutions and museums for over 20 years.

While at the American University of Paris, the hours Catherine spent studying works in the museums and galleries of Paris contributed to forming her critical eye and art historical mastery, laying the foundation for her business.  A graduate of Dartmouth College and New York University, American painting from 1870-1970, eventually became her passion and focus.  This 100-year period encompasses the greatest Hudson River School and Luminist, Impressionist, Modernist and Pop-Art movements.  Representing masterful works of landscape, portraiture, still life and abstraction, the gallery exhibits paintings, works on paper and sculpture.

Whether developing or revising a collection, private collectors, institutions and museums look to Catherine Dail Fine Art for discretion and expertise.  As a private dealer, Catherine offers a level of access, transparency, and attention to detail that often auction houses and large galleries do not.

Catherine Dail is an award-winning member of the Appraisers Association of America and the Private Art Dealers Association.  Catherine Dail Fine Art appraisals are prepared according to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and are recognized and accepted by courts and the IRS.

Many thanks to Catherine for being in our Spotlight!  If you would like to learn more about Catherine Dail Fine Art, please visit her website at www.cdailfineart.com, or contact info@cdailfineart.com.  If you are interested in a personal viewing of the collection, you are welcome to schedule an appointment.
